VI COMMANDO

L/Cpl. Stanley Rothwell, formerly of the Lancashire Fusiliers, served with No.4 Troop of No.6 Commando.

L/Cpl. Stanley Rothwell received fatal injuries as a result of an accidental detonation of a type 69-grenade on a firing range during a Commando shooting competition on 1^st December 1943 , dying later on 4th December 1943 . He was laid to rest in Prestwich (St. Mary) Churchyard ( Lancashire , UK ) Sec. 8. Row 4. Grave 56.
